Atlantic Circuit Seminar 1 - World Cruising Club organise a series of seminars and training courses covering a variety of topics of interest to those planning an offshore cruise. They are designed to help with preparations for an Atlantic Circuit from Europe to the Caribbean and back.

The next seminar, Atlantic Circuit Seminar 1, takes place in London on Saturday 17 January 2004 and looks at the initial requirements for boat preparations and equipment choices.

The seminar is timed to coincide with the last weekend of the London Boat Show, enabling delegates to benefit from the lessons of the Atlantic Circuit Seminar when visiting the show afterwards. Our lecturers have been chosen for their in depth knowledge of their specialist fields; other lecturers have sailed in the ARC and will draw on their experiences from their participation in the event.

Subjects to be covered include:


  • Cruising south from the UK

  • Weather and routing for cruising the Caribbean, and returning home

  • Boat preparation for Caribbean cruising

  • Navigation and Electronics for offshore sailing

  • Overview of marine communications

  • Selecting and managing crews, travel tips etc.

  • Spares and Maintenance on board

  • Participation in the ARC (from the view point of a previous participant)


The seminar delegate fee is just £100 per person, with a special offer of a second delegate attending on the same booking at no extra charge, and includes lunch and delegate notes.
